I first draw out my whimsical scenes and silly characters with pen and ink. Then I fill in the inkwork with flat watercolor washes followed by colored pencil for the detailing.
I paint with encaustic wax, a process that involves fusing molten wax on wood panels with a torch. My art has many layers, often incorporating collage, dimensional textures, linework, & incision.

I work in watercolor and favor a looser style of painting which I feel creates interest and excitement. I start with a value study which helps me decide the best way to capture the viewer’s interest
These paintings are oil on canvas. The background paint is heavily applied with a palette knife while the buildings are brushed on with a thin layer. They’re ready to hang and framing is available.
