About:

Hailed as a “firecracker educator and performer” after founding the Wintergrass Festival’s Musicians of Excellence education program, Annie Savage is an international clinician whose Free-Strings Method (www.free-strings.com) offers students, classrooms, and festivals alike a joyful experience with music at the nexus of cultural relevance, creativity, and lifetime musicianship. A renowned fiddler, vocalist, and concert harpist, Savage has shared the stage with artists from Aretha Franklin to John Williams to Ricky Skaggs. She teaches with one foot in the classroom and the other in the music industry. Annie’s studies have taken her from the concert halls of the Interlochen Arts Academy to the studios of the Berklee College of Music. Annie lives in infamy in the woods outside of North Liberty, IA. Her Music on the Move concerts will bring two different projects to the Summer of the Arts stages.
