Saul Lubaroff Quartet

July 6 at 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

About:

Saul Lubaroff began his musical journey when he was eight years old. As a little boy in Philadelphia, he took private piano lessons. When the family moved to Iowa, Saul played the viola for one year, and then switched to Clarinet in 5th grade. In 7th grade, Saul’s love of jazz took over, and he added Saxophone to his list of weapons. He studied jazz improvisation from the time he was 13 years old, attended summer band camps, and took private lessons. Saul organized his own combo at the age of 16 and played his first gig at the Hillel House. Saul studied with Dan Yoder , the jazz studies director at the time at the University of Iowa. Saul was playing in big bands before he was old enough to drive a car.
