 Call for Young Artists

With the sponsorship of Toyota of Iowa City, Summer of the Arts  supports and promotes emerging Johnson County, Iowa artists (ages 18-22) through the Creating a Legacy of Local Artists project. This project encourages young, local artists to pursue a career in the arts by awarding a commission totaling $3,000 for original work. The artwork is featured at the Iowa Arts Festival and then is displayed at Toyota of Iowa City.

Children’s Activities

FUN Stops

We feature FUN Stops as an exciting addition to our festivals. We invite your business or organization to host and staff a FUN Stop booth and provide an interactive family friendly activity (that children can participate in) as attendees make their way through the festival. This will be a rewarding and valuable opportunity for your business or organization to demonstrate your positive community involvement while also gaining high-level visibility with your presence at our events. More information coming soon!

If you have specific questions about our FUN Stops, please contact us by email or call our office at 319-337-7944.

Children’s Global Village

Children’s Global Village will be filled with booths representing different countries and cultures to serve as a learning experience for kids who visit and participate in the booths’ activities.  Children can pick up a passport and have it stamped at each booth in order to go into a drawing for great prizes!

Community members, Boy/Girl Scout troops, church groups, student organizations, and other groups can share information about another country to festival attendees.

More information coming soon!
