Black Lives Matter to Summer of the Arts

Inequality, bias, and exclusion persist in many forms in the Iowa City area. We at the Summer of the Arts organization acknowledge those members of our community who have been impacted in very personal ways and are hurting due to the crippling effects of racism and violence. Summer of the Arts stands with those of you who are not heard, and we want to engage in honest conversations with you. We strive for our community and world to gain a greater awareness of one another, address unconscious bias, and work towards a greater understanding and empathy with all members of the community that we all share.
