I aim to both capture and create in my work. Each photograph freezes a unique moment, but that’s just the beginning of the process. From there I choose how to distill, amplify, or transform the image.
I am a Nature photographer, and I love capturing moments! I use digital cameras, and edit digitally in Lightroom, but all pictures are single shots, and I do not use Photoshop or composites

I make images using film photography to express my passion for place. Most often this place is my home, the Midwest. Film photography and darkroom prints can communicate the feeling of Midwestern life in a way that other photographic mediums can’t replicate. With my photographs, I aim to inspire others to seek out the beauty hidden below the surface of Iowa’s agricultural landscape
I make images of rural spaces and the things that make them unique and comfortable. I present my images on gallery wrapped canvases or matted prints.
My photography embraces nature, from shot setup to digital image processing. I try to showcase the scene’s aesthetic qualities at each step, with the goal of evoking an emotional response to my photo.
Art work begins with my internal vision then carries through to my camera. All work printed myself. Medium format photography, both film and digital. Images are captured in natural light.
