Smith Studio Jazz

Smith Studio Jazz is a 20-piece big band playing jazz arrangements and improvisational combos. SSJ is playing the Iowa City Jazz Festival Youth Stage for the 4th consecutive year. Whether playing a standard jazz arrangement or an improvisational combo based on a rock song, SSJ’s goal is to have fun while creating a family-friendly party atmosphere for the audience.
