The artist uses watercolor to create highly detailed paintings of botanical subjects that are both scientific and artful. The purpose is to elevate and preserve the beauty of our natural world
I work in watercolor and favor a looser style of painting which I feel creates interest and excitement. I start with a value study which helps me decide the best way to capture the viewer’s interest
These paintings are oil on canvas. The background paint is heavily applied with a palette knife while the buildings are brushed on with a thin layer. They’re ready to hang and framing is available.
I create vibrant, textural paintings using acrylic and modeling paste. In addition I use ink to achieve a watercolor effect on the canvas.
Impressionistic figurative oil painting on stretched canvases or panels. My exhibit will include both studio work and plein air paintings
Translucent acrylic paint applied in multiple layers to canvas.
I base my current watercolor paintings on Portuguese and ancient Islamic tiles from Ottoman Damascus. After drawing the design on watercolor paper, I mix my desired colors and paint with a brush.
I create mostly Midwest landscape paintings in either Oil on gesso board or Gouache on hot press watercolor paper.
