Our artwork is made from various steel, stone, granite & pottery. We hand cut the steel-form & weld it to a specific shape then add stones/granite/pottery to make each sculpture unique.
MIG welded steel, stainless steel, and hand painted polycarbonate are my primary media. While some pieces rely on clean lines and new materials, other work incorporates reclaimed salvage yard objects.
I create my sculptures using the techniques style of the Shona Sculpture movement of Zimbabwe, my homeland and heritage. The stone I use is imported from Zimbabwe, and is 100% hand carved.
My work is wall hung, hand built figurative sculpture. Made from low fire clay bodies, after firing they are stained with ink, and/or paint. Sticks, wire, fabric, misc added.
I layer colored clay to create tiny images that are revealed once the clay is sliced. These slices are combined to create my sculptures.
I use steel and found objects which I cut, weld, grind, and shape to create a sculpture that fires the imagination and invites the viewer into the work, creating a personal connection.
