Gizmojazz

About:  

Gizmojazz tends to be musically creative and mischievous, playing jazz with a sense of camaraderie and a dash of humor. The group has played in many clubs and concert venues across the state of Iowa and beyond. We are also known for using many special effects and sounds as part of our overall approach to this music.

Gizmojazz are Steve Grismore (guitar), Rich “the bone” Medd (trombone), Danny Oline  (bass and sarcasm) and James Dreier (drums and percussion). We play original compositions and arrangements as well as the music of Ornette Coleman, Herbie Nichols, Steve Lacy, Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington, John Abercrombie, Wayne Shorter, Paul Motion, Dave Holland, and on and on……..
