Pinicon Drift

Pinicon Drift plays its own blend of American roots music—rock, folk, pop, country, and soul. Featuring the vocals of Julie Troendle and David Pedersen and Jeff Schmidt’s acoustic guitar (plus the addition of a kick-ass rhythm section and lead guitar for the Iowa Arts Festival performance), the band’s approach is as straightforward as its members’ eastern Iowa roots.

A shared appreciation of classic and contemporary songwriters is reflected in the band’s choices of cover tunes, and the group’s original material is distinctive for its catchy melodies, tight harmonies, and sing-along lyrics. The Pinicon Drift credo is simple yet clear: Serve the song.
