Sam Ross Quintet

The Sam Ross Quintet is a jazz combo made up of performers, composers, and educators. Sam Ross is a Iowa City based tenor saxophonist currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance at the University of Iowa, where he studies with Dr. Damani Phillips. He will be joined by musicians including saxophonist Marvin Truong and pianist Carson Parker. With special emphasis on feel, culture, and historical aspects of the music, this group provides a great mix of new and original music.
