The Schnoebelen Scheme

Joey Schnoebelen is a classical and jazz trumpeter from Iowa City. He was a 4-year member of All State Orchestra and Principal Trumpet in the QCYSO. He was a 3-year member of SEIBA Honor Jazz Band and All State Jazz Band earning lead trumpet each year. Joey was selected as a Top 10 National Finalist in the 2016 Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Jazz Challenge. This is his third year of performing at the Iowa City Jazz Festival. He has also performed in two Twin City Jazz Festivals.

The Schnoebelen Scheme is a sextet featuring some of Iowa’s most talented youth jazz musicians. This group will play original compositions by Joey as well as standard jazz repertoire with unique twists.
