UI Spirit Squad

About:  

The Iowa Spirit Squads consist of the Iowa Cheerleaders, Iowa Dance Team and Herky the Hawk.  The 50+ members represent the University of Iowa not only at Athletic events, but at many events requiring the Black and Gold to be present.  They can be seen on the sidelines and halftime inside Historic Kinnick Stadium, as well as inside Carver Hawkeye Arena for Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, Wrestling and Gymnastics.

The Iowa Spirit Squads also host events throughout the year, including kids clinics, skills clinics for high school aged students, competitions and other training sessions.  The commitment to the team is year round and many of them stay for the summer to take classes and work on their skills.
