We Funk is a collective of local musicians and performers dedicated to the preservation of the motion of hips. Originally conceived in Iowa City, circa 2010, We funk has been reborn with a mission to connect you to the mothership. From the early 70’s to the now, We funk brings forth to you, the music of Parliament-Funkadelic, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Gary Sheider, Eddie Hazel and more from the “Funk Mob”. With a full Horn section, array of different singers, and about three rhythm sections, We Funk is definitely composed of this generation’s clones of Dr. Funkenstien. Have you experienced any missing funk? We funk has been sighted at several Eastern Iowa events and venues in the past. You may have not identified it at the time, but we can confirm multiple Camp Euforia, Gabes and Wildwood experiences from fans. We believe. We want you to believe.
