Where can I park?
Bus
Most area bus routes come into downtown Iowa City, so there’s always an option. Please note that some festivals impact bus routes, so check their websites for more information. Access all bus schedules and do your real-time trip planning with the Transit app.
Parking Ramps and Metered Spots/Lots
There are five parking ramps in downtown Iowa City for you to use! Depending on the event location, there are sometimes metered parking spots and lots that are available. You can find detailed information about locations and costs by visiting the City of Iowa City Parking page.
- Capitol Street (next to the Old Capitol Mall)
- Chauncey Swan Ramp
- Court Street Transportation Center (Court and Dubuque Streets)
- Dubuque Street (next to The Graduate Hotel)
- Tower Place (Iowa Avenue)
Can I bring food and drink?
Yes. You are welcome to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to our events.
Do I need my own chair?
Yes. We encourage you to bring your own chair or blanket to sit comfortably in front of the Main Stage or in the grassy area nearby.
For our programming that happens on the Ped Mall/Weatherdance Fountain Stage, there are plenty of benches to choose from!
What if it rains?
Severe Weather-All Events
Should severe weather move in, we follow the guidance of Iowa City officials. Please check our Facebook page for the most current updates.
Arts, Jazz, and Soul & Blues
The Iowa Arts Festival, Iowa City Jazz Festival, and the Soul & Blues Festival go on rain or shine–we don’t reschedule or move these events.
Friday Night Concert Series
For the Friday Night Concert Series, we move to the Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp on the corner of Washington and Gilbert Streets in Iowa City. Enter from Burlington or College Streets–we set up on the lower level where the Farmers Market is normally held. Please check our Facebook page for the most current updates.
Northside Concert Series
For the Northside Concert Series, we won’t have a rain location for the June concerts and will try to reschedule them. For July and August we DO have a rain location, thanks to The James Theater! It located in the neighborhood at 213 N. Gilbert St. (the former Riverside Theatre location).
