Transparent watercolors showing Iowa City scenes and whimsical bird prints and shower curtains of the Iowa City scenes
Generally, I use traditional transparent watercolor on paper. I do some watercolor on canvas, and my work is representational.
I use acrylic paint on wood panels, glazing with multiple layers to achieve detailed vibrant paintings.
I paint wildlife in their natural habitat and landscapes in acrylic on gessoed hardboard. I print my own giclee reproductions and frame all artwork.
I create acrylic paintings, in studio or en plein air. Materials are all professional grade and I use all of my own reference or paint from my imagination. Frames are primarily handmade solid oak.
I use a layering technique that allows me to build up the oil paints for contrast and bright colors.
I paint Iowa landscapes with acrylics. I use several reference photographs and plan air observations to create the painting. I compose my paintings using notan diagrams and use them as reference.
I use oil paint on canvas and wood employing a glazing technique.
