Can I bring food and drink?

Yes. You are welcome to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to our events.

Do I need my own chair?

Yes. We encourage you to bring your own chair or blanket to sit comfortably in front of the our festival stages, or on the grassy Pentacrest.

For our programming that happens on the Ped Mall/Weatherdance Fountain Stage, there is some seating to choose from, either wooden or stone benches.

What if it rains?

Severe Weather-All Events

Should severe weather move in, we follow the guidance of Iowa City and Johnson County officials.

Please check our Facebook page for the most current updates.

Iowa Arts Festival and Iowa City Jazz Festival

The Iowa Arts Festival and Iowa City Jazz Festival go on rain or shine–we don’t reschedule or move these events. We may pause programming and resume if safe, or we may end programming early or cancel if severe weather threatens.

Friday Night Concert Series

In case of steady rain, we move concerts to the lower level of the Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp, 415 E. Washington Street, where the Farmers Market is normally held. Enter from Burlington or College Streets.

Music on the Move

For Music on the Move, we do not typically have a backup location. We will try to reschedule for the same location, the next day, if possible. Otherwise, we will reschedule for a later date.

Drive-In Movies at the Hangar

For Drive-In Movies at the Hangar, we will try to reschedule for a later date.
