Songbird Bethann

About:  

Born in Dubuque, IA, Bethann Heidgerken started writing original music in high school. She continued her pursuits while attending The University of Iowa, furthering her musical knowledge at the university and her vocal skills while performing in several Iowa City bands. She then moved to Davenport, where she has continued to perform professionally, while raising a family, and also pursuing a career as a nurse and lactation consultant. Throughout the years of musical collaborations, her own songwriting grew as she has found her own style and presence. Her influences include Gillian Welch, Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt, Dessa, and The Avett Brothers. Her original music is acoustic and emotive. Her songwriting draws upon her own experiences to find a voice through music to connect to others through our shared emotions. She is currently working on recording her original music and looks forward to debuting her first EP.
